Common First-Time Questions from Dealers
Purpose
This page answers common early questions from dealers and partners after Speed Layer is installed.
Will my website look different?
In most cases, the visible design and content should look the same. Speed Layer focuses on the order and timing of work during load.
Why do some tools appear a little later?
Some third party tools are delayed intentionally so the most important content can load first. This can help reduce early load contention and improve stability.
If a critical tool is delayed too long or fails to load, use the troubleshooting checklist and contact support.
Why did my PageSpeed score change, then change again?
Scores can fluctuate due to test conditions, device and network variability, and page changes. Treat early results as directional and focus on trends.

Does Speed Layer work on my platform?
Speed Layer is designed to work across many dealer website platforms. Some platform behaviors can limit what can be controlled, especially when the platform injects scripts late or in ways that bypass standard loading patterns.
Can I remove Speed Layer if needed?
Yes. Speed Layer is installed as a script tag. Removing the tag and publishing the change disables Speed Layer.
What should I monitor first?
Start with:
- Homepage, SRP, and VDP performance
- Whether key interactions feel responsive
- Whether lead, chat, and finance tools load correctly
Where can I learn more about the metrics?
Google provides clear explanations of key web performance metrics:
