Step-by-Step: Installing Speed Layer on Your Website
Purpose
Provide a clear, repeatable process for installing Speed Layer on a dealership website.
Before you start
Have the following ready:
- The domain or domains where Speed Layer should run
- Access to edit the global site head or platform level script injection area
- The Speed Layer script URL from Auto Genius customer support (the Nano ID is domain and hostname specific)
Step 1: Get the script URL
Auto Genius customer support will provide the script URL for your domain.
Step 2: Add the script to the head on every page
Add the script globally, so it loads on all site pages.
Use the standard snippet:
<!-- Start Auto Genius Layer script --> <!-- DO NOT add defer or async --> <script src="https://exo.autogenius.io/{nanoId}"></script> <!-- End Auto Genius Layer script -->
Step 3: Confirm placement requirements
- The script must be inside the head
- Place it immediately after the title tag
- The Speed Layer script should be the first script on the page
- Do not add async or defer
If your platform injects scripts late, use a template or platform native head injection method instead of a tag manager.
Step 4: Publish
Publish the change in your CMS or platform.
Step 5: Verify Speed Layer is running
Use the verification pages in this section:
- How to Check If Speed Layer Is Running
- What to Look for in Browser Tools (Simple Version)
What to expect right away
- The site should look the same
- Some third party tools may load slightly later while the page becomes usable
