What Happens Immediately After Installation
Purpose
This page sets expectations for what changes right away after the Speed Layer tag is added, and what may take time to stabilize.
Immediately after the tag is live
As soon as the Speed Layer tag is installed and published:
- The script will execute on page load for visitors where Speed Layer is enabled
- The page will begin running with a controlled loading order for some scripts and behaviors
- The system can begin observing page characteristics and runtime behavior
You may notice that some tools appear slightly later during load. This is often intentional when those tools are not required for initial content to be usable.
What you might see in the first day
Early outcomes vary by site, but common patterns include:
- Faster appearance of main content on key pages
- Fewer visible layout jumps during load
- More responsive early interactions
Some pages may still look unchanged. That is normal. Many improvements are about timing and stability rather than visual differences.
What can take time
Some improvements can change over the first several days as the system observes more sessions and page patterns. For example:
- Page specific behavior may become more consistent
- Known performance bottlenecks can be handled more precisely
What should not change
Speed Layer does not change your site content, navigation structure, inventory data, or the core design of the pages.
