How Location and Inventory Affect Content
This page explains how your Locations and inventory data can affect what visitors see, especially when you use dynamic Sections.
Location-aware Sections
Some Sections can use Location data to stay up to date automatically.
Reviews
When enabled for your site, a Reviews Section can display reviews associated with one or more Locations.
Some setups allow filtering, such as showing only reviews above a selected rating.
Locations
A Locations Section displays cards for selected Locations.
Location cards commonly include details like:
- Location name
- Address
- Phone number
- An image (when available)
Inventory-aware Sections
Some Sections can display inventory-based counts.
Brands and Body Styles
When enabled for your site, Brands and Body Style Sections can:
- Display a selected list of brands or body styles
- Optionally show live vehicle counts based on current inventory
Inventory-driven page layouts
Some Routes are designed to be driven primarily by inventory data, such as:
- Inventory search results pages (SRPs)
- Vehicle detail pages (VDPs)
On these pages, the inventory experience is rendered automatically based on the Route layout.
The connection point
Inventory and reviews are usually connected through your Location configuration.
If inventory counts or reviews are missing, the issue is often related to Location data or a connection to an upstream system.
Tip
If you suspect a data issue, start by confirming:
- The content is published
- You are previewing the correct Location context (if your preview supports it)
Then contact Auto Genius support with the affected URL and the Location name.
