Understanding Sections (Content Blocks)
Sections are the building blocks you use to create Pages in Marketplace.
What a Section is
A Section is a reusable content block with a defined purpose and a set of fields.
When you add Sections to a Page, Marketplace renders them from top to bottom in the order you choose.
Common Section categories
The insert menu typically groups Sections into categories such as:
- Storytelling (sections where you write the content)
- Extras (special-purpose sections like accordions)
- Dynamic (sections that pull live data)
Examples of Storytelling Sections
These are commonly used for authored content:
- Hero
- Rich Text
- Media with Text
- Card Groups
- Text with Action
- Info Groups
- Accordion Groups (FAQ-style)
Examples of Dynamic Sections
These Sections can pull live data from your Locations or connected inventory:
- Reviews (when enabled)
- Locations
- Brands (when enabled)
- Body Style (when enabled)
Adding and reordering Sections
In most cases you can:
- Add a Section from the insert menu in the Page editor
- Reorder Sections by dragging them
- Collapse a Section while editing to make long pages easier to manage
Color overrides
Some Sections include background and text color options.
These are designed to work within your site’s Theme.
