How Locations Affect Content

Overview

Locations can affect what is shown on your Marketplace site in several ways. Some experiences are fully driven by Location data, while others pull Location data into a global page through content blocks.

1) Location detail pages

A dedicated location detail page is typically rendered using a Location-specific layout.

How it works:

  • The page is driven by a single Location document.
  • The layout renders a predefined set of modules.
  • Author-managed content blocks are not the primary source of content for this page.

These pages commonly display elements like a hero image, the location name, hours, action tiles, and contact and address details.

2) Location cards on content pages

On pages that use the default content layout, location information can be shown through a Locations section.

Typical behavior:

  • You select which Locations should appear.
  • The section displays location cards with options like showing the name, address, brand icon, and an image preview.

3) Reviews tied to Locations

Reviews can be shown in a Reviews section in two common modes:

  • Global: show reviews across all Locations in the project.
  • Location-specific: show reviews only for selected Locations.

Most review data is ingested automatically, and editorial control is usually focused on whether a review is shown.

4) Form location selectors

Locations can appear in selector dropdowns for common form flows, such as trade-in, finance applications, service scheduling, ordering parts, and contact forms.

A Location can be included in some selectors and excluded from others. This lets you control form availability without removing the Location from the site.

5) Inventory and filtering

In many setups, inventory is linked to Locations through identifier values. This enables features like location filtering on search results pages.

6) Per-location label overrides

Some text strings can be overridden per Location, such as specific CTA labels or pricing-related labels. These overrides apply only to the Location where they are configured.
