When to Refresh / Clear Cache
Refreshing or clearing cache can be useful during troubleshooting, but it should be used thoughtfully.
When a refresh helps
- A script was recently installed or moved
- A recent site publish changed templates or tags
When clearing cache helps
- You are testing after large changes and want a clean load
- You suspect a cached script or asset is masking the current behavior
Important notes
- Clearing cache changes test conditions and can make a page look slower for that one run.
- Many real shoppers will have some level of caching in normal browsing.
If you are measuring success, focus on trends and real user experience metrics rather than relying on cache-cleared tests.
